Oneida Nation Homelands—Former heavyweight
contender Andrew Golota (37-4, 30 KOs) continues his highly heralded journey
on the comeback trail when he steps into the ring at the Oneida Indian
Nation’s Turning Stone Casino Resort on Friday, November 14. He’ll square
off against power punching Terrence “KO” Lewis (31-13, 21 KOs) of
Philadelphia, Pa. in a scheduled ten-round bout.
Golota ended a nearly three-year layoff in August with an impressive seventh
round TKO of Brian Nix in Dover, Del. A native of Poland, Golata has resided
in the United State for 11 years, but now plans to move to Britain to train
under the guidance of two-time world heavyweight champion Tim Witherspoon.
Ironically, Golota defeated Witherspoon five years ago. Golota’s other past
opponents include current WBC titleholder Lennox Lewis and former champs
Mike Tyson and Riddick Bowe.
The night of boxing at Turning Stone is presented by Ziggy Promotions. The
undercard matches, which will begin at 7:30 p.m., will be announced at a
later date.
