City Council wanted to
name a street after Don King…
by Sue TL Fox
January 1, 2003
(JAN 1, 2003) Last week in Atlantic
City, New Jersey, it was announced that there was a proposal on the table to
have a street named after the infamous Don King, who at one time had
been incarcerated for murder no less. The proposal would have called it
"Don King Boulevard" that would be part of the Mississippi Avenue.
Apparently the proposal WAS met with resistance by some local folks….and
has been at least to this date---taken off of the city council’s agenda.
The "hair Brain" (no pun intended) idea came from the fact that
Don King would be honored for the boxing matches he has promoted with the
Atlantic City Casinos.
