Local Fighter Wright Set to Fight Mosley in Las Vegas
(DEC 25) Washington-raised IBF 154-pound champion Ronald "Winky" Wright finally received the high-profile fight he had been searching for for the past two years. Tapia hospitalized for possible drug overdose
(DEC 20) ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - Five-time world champion boxer Johnny Tapia was taken to a hospital Friday for treatment of what police said was a possible overdose of pills.  Tapia, who has a history of drug abuse, was in satisfactory condition at the University of New Mexico Hospital, said Trayce Zimmermann, a spokeswoman for the boxer.

Reid Will Appeal Over Ref Outrage

(DEC 17) Public trust can be a terrible oxymoron, depending upon the individual shouldering it.  Richard Schwaiger was a Grand Rapids city commissioner from 1970-75. During his term, Schwaiger accepted for safekeeping a pair of boxing gloves used by Stanley Ketchel. Arthur Ketchel Sr., brother of the boxing legend, had kept the gloves for more than 60 years.
