Copy righted. 1998-2008. All rights reserved. Records and statistics have been verified by due diligence searches via microfiche newspapers; information gathered from the public domain: and data obtained from boxrec.com. American, English, World (Police Gazette, the Ring Magazine or lineal successor), NYSAC, NBA, WBA, WBC, IBF and WBO titles won have been included (Colored titles in some cases). British, Commonwealth, EBU, IBA, IBO, NABF, NABO and USBA titles won have been omitted. Names have been chronologically sorted by division, then alphabetically in groupings, with legal surnames placed (in parenthesis).
A universal champion is defined as a holder or winner of four major sanctioning body titles. An undisputed champion is described as a holder of three. A unified champion is denoted as a holder of two. A uniform champion is designated as a holder of one. To qualify, all titles must be collectively won and concurrently held in the same weight class. Asterisks* depict a winner of four, three and two of those titles, but take into account that they were specifically won but not simultaneously held. Fighters who won two or more titles in one bout are considered one-time champions. Those who won more than two titles in separate bouts are credited with how many times they won a different title in the same weight class. Two-time multiple weight champions, and one-time uniform champions do not appear. If any statistic is inaccurate; a name is missing: or record incomplete, please contact the author so that a correction and/or retraction can be made.
