FINALLY! HOLM VS SANDERS

ALBUQUERQUE
(March 13, 2008) – Today at Isleta Casino on the second leg
of the media press tour to announce the Jr. Middleweight title fight
between Holly Holm and Mary Jo Sanders. Wednesday the tour started off
in Detroit, where Sanders resides, today in Albuquerque and will finish
up in Las Vegas Friday.
Not much fireworks from the two combatants, but their trainers had
plenty to say. Mike Winkeljohn Holm's trainer felt it would be a great
fight "If" Sanders shows up. "I have reservations that Sanders really
wants to fight and when I start hear she is having ankle problems, I'm
not to sure she will be here June 13th." Sanders trainer Jimmy Mallo
countered by saying, "Holm hasn't seen anything like Mary Jo, ever and
when she takes the title from Holm in her home town the boxing people
will know Mary Jo is the best pound for pound!" Holm and Sanders will
fight June 13th at Isleta Casino for the IFBA Jr Middleweight title, the
card will be shown on PPV. Three other women's title's will be on
the line
Chevelle Hallback (26-5-2, 11 KOs) will defend her IFBA lightweight
title against Jeannine Garside (7-0-1, 3 KOs); Los Angeles' Wendy
Rodriguez (18-4, 3 KOs) and Hollie Dunaway (21-6, 10 KOs), of Van Buren,
Arkansas, battle for the IFBA strawweight belt; and, in a ten-round
flyweight bout, Eileen Olszewski (5-0-1) will fight an opponent TBA.
Also slated will be a four-rounder between debuters Angelica "Danger
Girl" Chavez, of Albuquerque, and El Paso's Alina Baltizar.
