Lara-Martirosyan winner
guaranteed title shot by WBC.

After watching WBC Light Middleweight Champion Saul " El Canelo "
Alvarez ( 41-0-1 ) fight old, too small or simply not good enough
fighters in his so far excessively weak title reign the WBC will be
pressuring him to face a top tier opponent next. That man will be the
winner of the Title eliminator clash between talented Armenian-American
fighter Vanes " The Nightmare " Martirosyan and Hard Hitting Cuban
Erislandy Lara on November 10th at the Wynn Resort in Las Vegas.
Vanes Martirosyan ( 32-0-0 ), age 26, is a lot like Canelo Alvarez. A
very tough former Olympian who has a wide array of skill but a weak
resume so far facing no true top contenders. But gladly he took the
fight with Knockout artist Erislandy Lara ( 17-1-1 ) a hard hitting and
even harder working Light Middleweight which will allow him to showcase
what kind of all around potential him really has.
Erislandy Lara ( 17-1-1 ), age 29, will have other plans for this
contest though. And there is absolutely no reason to not see him
following through seeing the power this man has. A lot like many other
Cubans which have done very well in boxing in recent years like
Yuriorkis Gamboa or Guillermo Rigondeaux, Lara is a hard worker who has
earned everything in his career. First he drew with Carlos Molina in a
disappointing showing but who can blame him seeing the tricky style of
Carlos but then right after in his most notable bout he beat Former
world champion Paul Williams ( 39-2-0 ) outboxing him in a tough fight
only to get what fans and insiders can define as " robbed " last year.
He has gone 2-0 1 KO'(s) since against reasonably lighter opposition but
none of this truly fits the point that Lara will fight anyone, anywhere
and will do everything in his power to leave with the victory.
Vanes has gone rough when put to the test, He got knocked down and
busted up against Mexican Saul Roman for example but did come back to
score a stoppage late. He needs to keep a tight guard with Lara to win
the fight because we know Lara will let his hands go at any sign of an
opening and any of them shots get put you down to the canvas. If Vanes
keeps well defended, Boxes well and has some heart he can win the fight
although personally I cannot say I favor that happening seeing a
powerful and elusive fighter like Lara but by no means is either man
winning out of the question even in the very slightest way.
Whatever happens in this fight in the mean time I recommend that Alvarez
gets primed and ready maybe even takes a tune up as the WBC President
Jose Sulaiman said in a statement to the press he can do that as long as
his next contest after that is the winner of Erislandy Lara Vs. Vanes
Martirosyan. No matter what this is an excellent two fight chain we have
lined up here so hopefully nobody pulls out. Boxing needs it's warriors
to fight each other as does any other combat sport so for the sake of
boxing lets assure that Vanes-Lara doesn't bring back any drama between
Golden Boy Promotions and Top Rank.
