The World Boxing Council will
begin the festivities of the 2010 Bicentennial.
February 6, 2010
(FEB 6) This coming Saturday, at
Monterrey Arena, the beginning of the WBC festivities to celebrate the
2010 Bicentennial of Mexico, having as the main event the bout for the
undisputed WBC Lightweight world title, between Venezuelan fighter,
Edwin Valero, and Mexican warrior Antonio DeMarco.
This year, Mexico will be celebrating the anniversary of the Mexican
Independence and Revolution deeds, respectively, and this evening will
be the first of a series of bouts that the WBC has scheduled for the
commemoration of such important events throughout the year.
Within this framework, the Venezuelan knockout artist and World
Champion, Edwin Valero, a fighter whom nobody has put to his limit,
mentioned that he is not under pressure due to the idea of continuing
winning his bout by knockout and that even a decision over Mexican
fighter, Antonio DeMarco would make him feel more than satisfied.
Tony, WBC Lightweight Interim Champion, who is promoted by spirited Gary
Shaw, will step in the ring before the Mexican fans, and he has already
arrived in Monterrey, together with his whole work team, as he will have
in the fists of his rival a barrel of gunpowder; still, he hopes to win
the fight.
DeMarco will face Edwin Valero, who has knocked out his 26 opponents, 19
of them in the first round, reason why Valero is not ruling out winning
the undisputed title in the same way he has won the other bouts; Valero
has become one of the most dangerous dynamite fighters of our times.
It will be an explosion of power due to the knuckles that both have.
DeMarco has a record of 23 fights, out of which he has only lost one and
drawn another one. He has 17 wins by knockout, showing that the
Venezuelan fighter could have a hard evening in the ring.
This coming Saturday, a fight of tremendous punchers will be staged, and
the beginning of the WBC festivities to celebrate the 2010 Bicentennial
will take place.
