Ireland vs. USA

(JAN 21) World champion Katie Taylor will
meet American lightweight Caroline Barry when the Irish senior men's
team take on the USA over two legs next month.
Ireland will meet the USA at the National Stadium in Dublin on February
27th and at the Arch Centre in Athy on March 1st.
Taylor, who returned to training recently, claimed her second World
title on the trot last year and was also named AIBA World female boxer
of the year for 2008.
The Irish men's squad for the two meetings with the USA will be named
after the 2009 Elite Irish Senior Championships conclude at the National
Stadium on February 20th.
The 2009 Elite Senior Championships begin on February 6th.
The IABA will hold a press conference at the National Stadium later this
month to announce details of the Elite Senior Championships and the two
meetings with the USA.
