Nakash
to fight Gomez on October 2nd

PHILADELPHIA (SEPTEMBER 21,
2009)—Undefeated Cruiserweight Ran Nakash will take on Gary Gomez in the
main event at The Legendary Blue Horizon on a big night of boxing on
cancer Awareness night Friday night October 2nd. The card is
promoted by Vernoca L. Michael and Blue Horizon Boxing Promotions and
there will dedications to Cancer survivors and Cancer groups from the
area.
Nakash of Haifa, Israel has a record of 20-0 with fifteen knockouts and
is on the cusp of receiving a world ranking.
Nakash has become a fan favorite at The Legendary Blue Horizon as this
will be his tenth appearance at The Blue (9-0, 7 KO’s including the last
six being knockouts). Nakash is coming off a unanimous decision over
Yavor Marinchev on August 8th in Israel.
In his last Blue Horizon start, Nakash scored a seventh round stoppage
over Dave Brunelli on April 3rd.
Gomez of Salt Lake City, Utah has a record of 18-10-1 with seven
knockouts and has faced some of the top cruiserweights in the world.
Gomez, 35, has faced top contenders such as Felix Cora Jr. (10-0); He
won the GBU Cruiserweight title with a sixth round stoppage over Michael
Sams (12-0-3); He lost a very thin decision to Contender Season four
runner-up Hino Ehikhamenor. Gomez then defeated undefeated Chad Van
Syckle (18-0-2) and Rayco Saunders (14-3); Gomez then dropped a split
decision to former cruiserweight king Arthur Williams (41-14-1) and a
decision to Kenny Keene (49-3).
Gomez has dropped three in a row to very good competition that rising
heavyweight Manuel Quezada (19-4) former Heavyweight contender Jeremy
Williams (41-5-1) and in his most recent bout he was stopped in seven by
currant Cruiserweight king, Tomasz Adamek (34-1).
In a six round Cruiserweight bout undefeated Jeremiah Graziano will make
his Blue Horizon debut against an opponent to be named.
Graziano of Kansas City, Missouri has a record of 6-0 with all wins
coming by knockout and will take on an opponent to be named.
After the disappointment of his opponent getting into a car accident
AFTER the weigh-in on September 11th, Darrell Jones will get back into
the ring in a four round Welterweight bout against popular Muhammad
Tuba.
Jones of Philadelphia has a record of 1-0 with one knockout and has been
out of the ring for thirteen months after scoring a third round knockout
over James Wynn at The Legendary Blue Horizon.
Tuba of Nazareth made a very successful Legendary Blue Horizon debut on
May 15th with a four round unanimous decision over Vincent Batteast and
brings in a record of 1-3.
Fresh off his pro debut victory on September 11th, Joe Alonso of
Bellmawr, New Jersey will take on debuting Vaughn Anderson of
Philadelphia in a four round Jr. Middleweight bout.
Ryan Carson, who scored a very impressive knockout in his pro debut on
August 8th in Atlantic City, will make his Legendary Blue Horizon debut
as the Norristown, PA native will take on Jhovany Collado of Queens, NY
in a four round Super Featherweight bout.
Collado, 2-6-2 with one knockout is the brother of undefeated
Featherweight Joselito Collado.\
In a four round Jr. Welterweight bout, Oz Goldenberg of Israel will take
on debuting Willie Davis of Philadelphia.
In a four round Jr. Middleweight bout, Ardrick Butler, 3-1 with one
knockout of Philadelphia will take on an opponent to be named
