Kennedy Back September 19th
at Bally's
September 2, 2009
(SEPT 2) PHILADELPHIA, PA—Lots of good
things are happening to some of your favorite fighters! Unbeaten super
bantamweight Teon “The Technician” Kennedy, of North Philadelphia, is
the headliner on Saturday evening, Sept. 19, at Bally’s Atlantic City,
when he takes on Lante Addy, of Accra, Ghana, in the 10-round
non-televised main event. This night will feature a special tribute—with
videos and a few short speeches--in honor of the late Arturo Gatti.
Tickets for the seven-bout card are $75 and $50 and they are on sale at
Peltz Boxing so give us a call if you’d like to attend.
It’s about time! Crowd-pleasing Rogers Mtagwa, of South Philadelphia,
gets a long-awaited world title opportunity when he challenges Juan
Manuel Lopez, of Caguas, Puerto Rico, for the World Boxing Organization
(WBO) super bantamweight title.
The scheduled 12-round fight will take place Saturday evening, Oct. 10,
in the WAMU Theatre at Madison Square Garden in New York City. Southpaw
Lopez is 26-0, 14 K0s; Mtagwa is 25-12-3, 18 K0s.
Tickets for this card, which includes Yurokis Gamboa, of Cuba, against
Whyber Garcia, of Panama, for the WBA junior lightweight title, are
$250, $150, $75 and $50 and they, too, are on sale at Peltz Boxing.
Pending clearance from the doctor due to a pinched nerve in his neck,
welterweight prospect Mike Jones, of North Philadelphia, returns to
Bally’s Atlantic City on Saturday, evening, Nov. 7, to make the third
defense of his North American Boxing Association (NABA) title. Jones is
18-0, 15 K0s, and it hasn’t been easy getting people into the ring with
him.
Tickets for Nov. 7 will be $75 and $50 and you can call Peltz Boxing for
them, also.
We will finish up the year Friday, Nov. 20, with a show at the Blue
Horizon.
We are hoping that Teon Kennedy will beat Lante Addy on Sept. 10 and
come out of the fight without any bumps or bruises. If that’s the case,
Kennedy will fight for the vacant United States Boxing Association (USBA)
super bantamweight title Nov. 20.
Tickets will be $45 and $60 and, yes, we will have them. Source/PR
