Brooklyn’s “Golden Child”
Continues Fast Track!

(AUG 19) Saturday, August 22nd, in a show
promoted as “Houston Heat” one fighter who has shown he can stand it is
Brooklyn, New York’s" Golden Child" Daniel Jacobs 17-0,15Ko’s. Jacobs
will be stepping up again facing “The Contender” Ishe "Sugar Shay"
Smith, 21-3, 9Ko in a ten round bout that should open the HBO telecast.
Jacobs and his team have applied their own heat to Jacob’s career
fighting seventeen fights in twenty months recording an impressive if
not red hot record of 17-0, 15Ko’s. A decisive victory over the crafty
but light punching veteran Smith would put Jacob’s right in the tight
middleweight mix.
Houston Heat’s main event features former Lightweight World Champion and
Hometown Houston hero Juan "Baby Bull" Diaz 34-2, 17Ko’s. “The Bull”
will be taking on another Brooklynite former 140 pound world titleholder
Paulie "Magic Man" Malignaggi, 26-2, 5Ko’s
who’s only loses have come at the hands of Miguel Cotto and Ricky
Hatton.
I predict Jacobs with his great amateur background will not only get
past Smith perform in outstanding fashion, then win by TKO. The only
question then remains who his management team will pick as his next
opponent. Will they continue his accelerated pace and again step up in
opposition and go for a Sebastian Zbik or may be a Jamie Moore or
Matthew Macklin who may not be quite as sharp but could certainly make
it a tough going. Or maybe even a another light middleweight like Ishe
Smith could match up nice. How about Alfredo Angulo or Sergio Martinez?
Too much ? Too Soon?
