Three is not a crowd
for Manchester MMA fighters

SALEM, New Hampshire (July 20, 2009) –
Manchester mixed martial arts fighters Nate “The Future” Lamotte, Ryan
“The Lion” Schieding and Adam “Lonewolf” McQuaid really have each
other’s backs.
All three will be in action July 31 on American Steel Cagefighting’s (ASC)
inaugural show at the Icenter in Salem, New Hampshire. Lamotte (10-4-0)
headlines against dangerous Doug “Flash” Gordon (9-7-0) in the main
event, while Schieding (3-1-0) meets Carlos Nieves (3-6-0), and McQuaid
will make his pro debut against Brian DeMuro (4-6-0).
The Manchester trio of fighters has so much going on together that
there’s enough of a storyline for a legitimate television reality show.
In addition to all three fighting in the welterweight division and being
the same height, they’re also roommates in Manchester, wrestled in
Manchester-area high schools at the same time, train at Team Burgess in
Manchester, and each is 25 years old (within a month of each other’s
birthdays). They will also be working each other’s corners July 31st.
“We’re mirror images of each other,” Lamotte explained. “We all love it.
The best thing is fighting on the same card with my two roommates and
best friends. We grew-up together. Ryan was co-captain with me in high
school (Manchester Memorial) and Adam went to West Manchester. We train
and cut weight together. I’m co-owner of Team Burgess (MMA studio).
Sometimes it gets a little goofy when we’re losing weight, so we just go
over there to train, even if it’s at 1 in the morning. And we always
have somebody to run with. I’ll be right in the corner for Ryan and
Adam. I can’t help it; I have to be there. They’ll be in my corner,
too.”
Undefeated New York lightweight Pat Audinwood (7-0-0) takes on former
Cage Fury Fighting champion, “Mr. Big” Al Buck (6-7-0), in the co-main
event.
In The “Super Fight,” Patrick Smith (16-13-0) -- UFC1 pioneer – fights
in New England for the first time against fellow UFC veteran, super
heavyweight Kevin “The Shamnan” Jordan (11-8-0).
Also scheduled to fight on the exciting ASC undercard is middleweight
Lamont “The Philly Bad Ass” Lister (6-7-0) vs. Randy “The Savage” Rowe
(2-6-0), Worcester featherweight Evan Parker (1-0-0) vs. Matt McCusker
(0-2), lightweight Kenny Foster (1-0-0) vs. Joe “The Boneyard Pitbull”
Dechaves (3-1-0); lightweight Brian “The Butcher” Danner (1-1-0) vs.
Chris Foster (3-0-0), and Al Germain Sterling faces Ibrahiem Tody, of
Allston (MA), in a 145-pound amateur match.
All pro fights are scheduled for three, three-minute rounds; fighters
