June 15 (Merrillville, In) - Welterweight
Ed "2 Fast 2 Furious" Ochoa (9-0, 8 KOs) answers the call in his brutal
six-round unanimous decision victory (58-55, 58-56, 59-54) over very
tough Jesse Davis (11-13, 8 KOs) in the main event after the original
and volatile main event of Michael "Midnight Stalker" Walker (19-2-2, 12
KOs) vs. "Iron" Orphius Waite (5-0, 3 KOs) was postponed due to Walker
being hospitalized in a Chicago hospital shortly before the "Tinley Park
Rumble" Event.
"Obviously I want to wish Michael a quick and speedy recovery, but
thanks to another incredible job by my chief matchmaker John Winfred,
this was an explosive and exciting card that the fans enjoyed," said
Octavius James, C.E.O. of One In A Million Inc.
Ochoa vs. Davis was a back and forth battle that left both fighters with
cuts and bruises, but it was Davis that left the ring with a nearly
completely swollen shut eye. Davis tried to rally in the middle rounds
and Ochoa would quickly snub out that effort with a flurry of his own
bringing the crowd to their feet chanting 'Eddie, Eddie, Eddie.'
Middleweight Josh Crouch (5-0, 5 KOs) entered the ring with Windy City
Thunderbolts' mascot Boomer and eventually delivered the boom on an
extremely game Josh Rodriguez (4-8, 3 KOs) with a 3rd round TKO (1:50)
in front of his beloved hometown crowd.
The always electric junior welterweight Angel Hernandez (13-3, 10 KOs)
put on a show that kept the very vocal fans up on their feet and
screaming with a six-round majority decision (57-57, 58-56, 59-55) over
Guadalupe Diaz (5-5, 1 KOs).
In a slugfest, Mexico's lightweight Jose Guzman (6-2, 5 KOs) got back to
his winning ways by overcoming an early barrage of power punches from
Mokena's Bobby Jaskierny (3-2, 2 KOs) and would win by 4th round TKO
(1:02) after rocking Jaskierny in the corner.
Chicago Height's junior middleweight Meegal Harper (2-0, 2 KOs) stayed
unbeaten when he pounded and eventually knocked out Kansas' Scott Wilson
(1-1, 1 KOs) in the 1st round (2:14).
"Merciless" Mary McGee was given an overwhelming standing ovation as she
raised all her titles into the air at the center of the ring as she made
her first public appearance since successfully defending her NABC
Lightweight and WBC International Super Lightweight world title by
winning in dramatic fashion a 10-round war against WBF Super Lightweight
champion Kristy "Rose" Follmar.
Octavius James' One In A Million Inc. will return to the ring when the
WBC International Super Lightweight and NABC Lightweight world champion
"Merciless" Mary McGee makes her triumph return to the ring along with
Ed "2 Fast 2 Furious" Ochoa, Derrick "Superman" Findley, "The Fighting
School Teacher" Jimmy Holmes and Marcus Thompkins at "Fight Night: Where
Champions Are Born;" the location and date to be announced soon.
