June 2, 2009
(JUNE 2) The report from Quintana

that Xcaret and Cancun will witness as of tomorrow and up to this
Saturday, counting on the attendance of great personalities of the ring
such as: “Manos de Piedra” Duran, Alexis Arguello, Pipino Cuevas,
“Chiquita” Gonzalez and Lupe Pintor. Another top-level fighter who will
also be present is Sergio “Maravilla” (Marvel) Martinez from Argentina,
WBC Superwelterweight world champion and one of the best fighters
nowadays, talking about technical skills.
In addittion to the terrific evening that will take place in Xcaret,
featuring the charismatic and promising Saul “Canelo” Alvarez from
Jalisco, Mexico, together with other fighters who will take part in the
main bout, showing the best there is in their division in the present
time, we refer to the fight that will be held between Mexican fighter
Omar Niņo, former Lightflyweight world champion, and Juanito Rubillar,
from The Philippines.
Promoters Ricardo Maldonado and Pepe Gomez are more than optimistic
regarding the expected success of this card in every respect. The show
will be offered to the fans from Quintana Roo who have already become
experts, as well as to millions of fans that will watch it on TV in the
whole Mexican Republic and other parts of the planet. The card will take
place on Saturday in that paradise known as Xcaret.
Previously, from Wednesday to Friday, Commissioners from all parts of
the American Continent will gather to shape several very interesting
Congresses. There will be people from almost all locations of the
Continent, from Alaska to Argentina.
The NABF (North American Boxing Federation), whose current President,
American - Mexican, Rex Walker, has announced its annual Convention as
well as elections for the Presidency of the group.
Matters of extreme importance will also be addressed, having to do with
boxing in the region, and as if this were not enough, a Latin American
boxing Congress will be shaped, with three organizations affiliated to
the World Boxing Council - just like the NABF - taking part.
We are talking about FESUBOX (South American Boxing Federation),
FECARBOX (Central American Boxing Federation), and CABOFE (Caribbean
Boxing Federation). Source/PR
