Two Wins for
Ireland

(MAY 24) Christy Joyce and Chris Mullally
got Ireland off to a winning start at the AIBA World Junior
Championships in Yerevan, Armenia today. Joyce dominated home favourite
Arayik Harutyunyan of Armenia en route to a 7-5 win and will face
Russian featherweight Dmitry Kulakov on Tuesday.
Mullally will also be in action Tuesday, versus Ihsan Erdogan of
Turkey.Mullally was felled by Georgian light welter Ciga Gignuri in the
second round today.
However, the Ryston clubman, who was 5-4 up at that point, got back off
the floor to blitz Gignuri in the third frame, winning out 13-6.
Cork flyweight Roy O'Carroll will be the only Irish boxer in action
tomorrow, versus Cuba's Carrazana Ramirez.
