Nakash
Stops Brunelli in Seven on Cuts to highlight "Spring Fling"
Fight Card at the Legendary Blue Horizon
April 6, 2009
(APR 6) PHILADELPHIA—This past Friday
night it was a festive atmosphere in front of a sold out crowd at The
Legendary Blue Horizon as Ran Nakash remained undefeated by scoring a
seventh round stoppage over Dave Brunelli in the battle of Israel and
Italy that highlighted a terrific seven bout card that was dubbed
“Spring Fling”
Nakash (18-0, 14 KO’s) of Haifa, Israel notched his ninth straight
knockout as he made Brunelli’s nose bleed in round two and
systematically took apart Brunelli (8-5) and cut Brunelli around both
eyes which forced the ringside physician to stop the bout at 1:18 of
round seven of the scheduled eight round bout.
In the co-feature, Julias Edmonds was all over Tyric Ribinson from the
word go and made life very uneasy for Ribinson and scored a mild upset
by scoring a unanimous decision in a six round Jr. Welterweight bout of
Philadelphia natives.
Scores were 60-54, 60-54 and 58-56 for Edmonds, who is quickly becoming
a Blue Horizon favorite.
Also on the undercard, cruiserweight Julio Cesar Matthews, featherweight
Joselito Collado, welterweight Ronald Cruz and cruiserweight Taneal
Goyco remained undefeated with unanimous decision victories
