Update: Elite National
Senior Championships

(FEB 21) Joe Joyce has granted his
brother David a walkover ahead of tonight's super heavyweight final at
the Elite National Senior Championships at the National Stadium in
Dublin. The brothers, who box out of the Moate club in Westmeath, were
due to meet this evenings for the vacant 91+Kg title. But Joe, the
younger of the two at 18, has granted 21 year old David, who weighed-in
this morning, a walkover.
That decision means that David is now the new Irish super heavyweight
senior champion. All other finalists weighed-in this morning and this
afternoon. The opening ceremony for tonight's finals begins at
7.30pm.
RTE coverage begins at 9pm.
