IBF Champ, Steve 'USS'
Cunningham, Hosts Fight Night In Philadelphia
December 1, 2008
(DEC 1) Just seven days before he faces
Tomasz Adamek in the fight he describes as “The most important fight of
my career to date” International Boxing Federation cruiserweight world
champion, Steve ‘USS’ Cunningham, is to host a special free event for
his home town boxing fans at the Fox and Hound, 1501 Spruce Street,
Philadelphia on Thursday 4th December.
Steve, who will be screening the video of
his December 2007 championship defense against Marco Huck, spoke briefly
about the event. “I’m really looking forward to this. Man, it’s going to
be great to chill out with local boxing fans. I’m going to enjoy
watching everyone as they watch the fight. It’s an exciting fight. You
know this’ll be the first time anyone in America will get to see it. It
was shown all over Europe, but not here.
We thought it would be fun to do something with local boxing fans, You
know, like get to know them and show them who ‘USS’ Cunningham is. I
can’t thank Melissa (event manager at Fox and Hound) and the guys down
at the Fox and Hound enough for giving me the opportunity to do this.
The Fox and Hound is a great sports bar. These guys support boxing, big
time. They show almost every fight on TV. I’m sure they will be showing
the Reading fight on Friday. I know they’re doing the De La Hoya -
Pacquiao and my fight against Adamek.”
Steve and his team will be greeting fans from 7.30 pm and showing the
video of the Cunningham vs Huck fight at 8pm at The Fox and Hounds is at
1501 Spruce Street (15th & Spruce), Philadelphia, PA. on Thursday 4th
