Adaev, Gonzalez and Huerta remained
unbeaten in Maywood’s "Rise to Glory" boxing card
(JULY 21) Three boxers remained unbeaten after their boxing matches last
Friday in Maywood’s "Rise to Glory" boxing card in which several of the best
promises of Southern California and internationally boxing risked their
undefeated records, last Friday at Maywood Activity Center.
In the card promoted by Crossroads Promotions, the German of Russian origin,
Ramzan Adaev, improved his mark to 7-0-1, with 7 knockouts after beating
Arturo Brambila technical knockout in the fifth round.
After four hard-fought rounds, referee Jack Reiss felt that Brambila, was
too exhausted to keep on fighting. He called in the ring d octor, whom
agreed that Brambila should not continue in the bout, calling for the
technical before the opening of the fifth round.
In co main event, Lester "Cubanito" Gonzalez improved his record to 7-0,
5KO's, by beating undefeated Jason Douglas by unanimous decision. Gonzalez
and Douglas became involved in a war since the opening bell, until a
straight left-hand to the jaw floored the Canadian for the eight count.
Douglas tried to change the course of the fight but all his attacks were met
by a great defense and more accurate punching from the Cuban who was able
use his boxing skills to nullify Douglas’ power and bigger size. It was the
firs loss for Douglas.
In another bout, Charles Huerta, “The pride of Paramount” had to ward off a
constant attack by an aggressive Oscar Marin, who was launching power
punches to the head and body of Huerta, until the end of the fourth assault,
when a straight right to the chin, sent Marin to the canvas for the eight
count.
Marin got up at the count of eight to end the round, buy once the fifth
round started, Huerta needed only 14 seconds to finish the job. Another
straight right to the chin sent Marin to the canvas. Raul Caiz junior
started the count, but ended the match at the count of two, when he realized
that Ma rin was out of action.
With this victory, Huerta’s record is now 6-0 with 3 knockouts to his
credit.
In the first fight of the night, Richard Ellis achieved the first victory of
his career, beating Luis "The Architect" Martinez by a majority decision.
Ellis was returning to Maywood, after having lost a close fight in his debut
last February, when he immediately became a crowd favorite.
For its part, Efrain Esquivias, the National Champion Gold Gloves in 2006,
had no action in the evening, after his opponent David Springer from Las
Vegas, Nevada, reported at the last minute that he had to travel to San
Francisco, due to his mother’s illness.
Crossroads Promotions announced that Esquivias will be fighting on the next
boxing card, scheduled for September 12, at the Maywood Activity Center in
Maywood, California.

Tres de los peleadores
favoritos mantuvieron su condicion de invictos, tras sus combates del
pasado viernes en la velada denominada “Buscando la Gloria” en la cual
varias de las mejores promesas del boxeo del Sur de California e
internacional expusieron su calidad de invictos, el pasado viernes en
el Maywood Activity Center, de Maywood, California.
En la función=2
0promotiva por Crossroads Promotions, el alemán de origen ruso, Ramzan
Adaev, mejoró su marca a 7-0-1, con 7 nocauts, al superar a Arturo
Brambila por nocaut técnico en el quinto round.
Luego de cuatro
disputados asaltos, el referi Jack Reiss consideró que el tapatio,
Brambila, lucia agotado por el rimto del combate, pidió al doctor del
ring que lo rivisara al final de cuarto round. El médico coincidió en
que Brambila no estaba en condiciones de seguir peleando y decretó un
nocaut ténico antes de inciar el quinto asalto.
En la pelea co estelar,
Lester "Cubanito" González elevó su récord a 7-0, 5KO's, luego de
vencer a Jason Douglas por decision unanime. Gonzalez y Douglas se
tranzaron en un duelo al tu por tu, hasta que un recto de zurda puso al
canadiense en la lona y aunque trató de cambiar el rumbo del combate, el
mejor boxeo del antillano se impuso al poderío de Douglas, quien al
final tuvo su primera derrota en el profesionalismo.
Por otro lado, Charles
Huerta, el orgullo de Paramount tuvo que “torear” a un agresivo Oscar
Marin, quien por tres asaltos estuvo lanzando peligrosos volados al
rostro y al cuerpo de Huerta, hasta que al final de cuarto asalto, un
recto de derecha envió al cachanilla a la lona para la cuenta de
pretección.
Marin se levantó a la
cuenta de ocho para terminar el asalto, pero una vez iniciado el quinto,
Huerta solo necesitó14 segundos para ultimar al oponente. Raul Caiz
hijo, inició la cuenta de protección, pero sobre la cuenta de dos, de
inmediato decretó el nocaut efectivo.
Con eso, el record de
huerta sube ahora a 6-0, con 3 nocauts en su haber.
En la primera pelea de la
noche, Richard Ellis logró la primer victoria de su carrera, superando
a Luis “El Arquitecto” Martínez por decisión mayoritaria. Ellis haciía
su retorno a Maywood, luego de haber perdido apretadamente en su pelea
de debut el pasado mes de febrero, convirtiendose en uno de los
favoritos de la afición.
Por su parte, Efrain
Esquivias, Campeón Nacional de los Guantes de Oro en el 2006, no tuvo
acción en la velada, luego de que el oponente David Springer de Las
Vegas, Nevada, informó a última hora que habia tenido que viajar de
emergencia, para acompaúar a su madre, quien se encontraba enferma en
San Francisco, California.

informó que Esquvias tendrá acción en la próxima función a efectuarse
el viernes12 de septiembre, en el Maywood Activity Center de Maywood,
California.
