Champions visit Quintana Roo´s
Integral Rehabilitation Center
May 30, 2008
In a very emotional act, which began along
with some rain that had not been seen for months, some champions visited
Quintana Roo´s Integral Rehabilitation Center in Chetumal.
Oscar Larios, Feider Viloria, Naoki Matsuda,
Guty Espadas Jr., Sal Sánchez Jr., and all the boxers who will take part in
the show to be held on May 31st, were present at CRIQ and presented a number
of wheelchairs defrayed by the World Boxing Council and promoter Pepe Gomez.
The Mayor of Chetumal, Andres Ruiz Morzillo, addressed all those who
attended, and indicated with surprise that what they had long been waiting
for in Chetumal, was happening right then, it was raining.
It was very exciting to see how children
turned their everyday faces into smiley ones, because of the presence of the
champions, as well as the clapping, the pictures, the autographs, and the
mini-gloves brought by the fighters who will get in the ring on May 31st.
CRIQ was inaugurated last November under a joint investment between Teleton
and the Government of the State of Quintana Roo, led by its Governor
Licenciado Felix Gonzalez Canto. CRIQ has an integral rehabilitation center
that is the most advanced one of all Latin America, over 5,000 handicapped
children and teenagers are assisted there.
Oscar Larios (62-6-1 / 39 KO´s) thanked President Sulaiman for the present
he was given when he least expected it, and he promised to regain the title,
while Viloria (21-2-1 / 15 KO´s) said that he would not let anyone take his
green belt away. By the way, fighter Feider Viloria, in an anger outburst,
verbally attacked Oscar Larios several times, to which Larios replied just
by smiling. source/PR
