Diaz Heads Chicago's Columbia College Food
Drive this Thursday
(DEC 5) World Boxing Council
Lightweight Champion David Diaz will be joining Columbia College’s 5th
Annual “Holly Jolly Trolley” Holiday Food Drive for the Greater Chicago Food
Depository this Thursday afternoon, December 6th at 2pm.
Donations of canned goods can be made at Columbia College’s 33 East Congress
Parkway Building on Congress Parkway between Wabash Ave. and State St. at
their downtown campus.
WCRX’s Ray Flores, host of Columbia College’s popular “ALL THINGS SPORTS”
Saturday morning radio show on 88.1 FM, will be hosting the proceedings.
Said Diaz, “I’m thrilled to help out at holiday time in Chicago for those
less fortunate. I encourage Chicago fight fans to come down, make a donation
of some canned goods and help out those in need.
I’m very thankful to Columbia College and WCRX’s Ray Flores for this
opportunity; they've been very supportive throughout my career."
Joining Diaz will be two of Chicago hottest professional boxing prospects,
bantamweight Francisco Rodriguez and lightweight Frankie Tafoya.
Rodriguez and Tafoya will be featured in separate bouts as Chicago’s 8 Count
Productions and Top Rank Incorporated present DECEMBER FURY, a massive
evening of world class professional boxing on December 14th at Cicero
Stadium. Tickets to DECEMBER FURY will be raffled off at the Holiday Food
Drive.
Advance tickets for DECEMBER FURY are available in advance by calling
312-226-5800. Cicero Stadium is located at 1909 S. Laramie, just minutes
from the Eisenhower and Stevenson Expressways. Doors for this event will
open at 5:30pm with the first bell at 6:30pm. |
