Polish Prospect Fonfara Featured in Chicago on November 16th
(NOV 8) Chicago favorite Andrzej Fonfara returns to the ring on Friday, November 16th as he faces Dave Saunders at Cicero Stadium in a six round junior middleweight bout, it was announced today by Dominic Pesoli, President of 8 Count Productions, HOME OF THE BEST IN CHICAGO BOXING.

The Fonfara-Saunders battle is one of the feature attractions at LATIN THUNDER, an outstanding evening of world class professional boxing presented by 8 Count Productions along with Oscar De La Hoya’s Golden Boy Promotions, TCF Bank, Tecate Beer and AeroMexico, Mexico’s premier airline travel headquarters.

Tickets for LATIN THUNDER are available in advance by calling the 8 Count Productions offices at 312-226-5800. Cicero Stadium is located at 1909 S. Laramie, just minutes from the Eisenhower and Stevenson Expressways. Doors for this event will open at 5:30pm with the first bell at 6:30pm.

The 20 year old Fonfara brings a record of 7-1 (2KO’s) into battle with Saunders. Most recently Fonfara treated his growing legion of Chicago fans to an outstanding boxing display with a six round decision over Luis Hodge on September 17th at Chicago’s Congress Theater.

Said Pesoli about Fonfara, “He’s getting better each time out and has brought a real sense of electricity to our shows with his enthusiastic fans. Saunders is a hard punching veteran and this should be another very solid test for Andrzej.”
The heavy handed Saunders, 9-3 (6KO’s) from Cincinnati, Ohio has won five of his battles by knockout in the first two rounds.

The full LATIN THUNDER card is
David Lopez vs. Darryl Salmon, ten rounds, middleweight

Jhonny Gonzalez vs. Jose Angel Berenza, ten rounds, super bantamweights

Andrzej Fonfara vs. Dave Saunders, six rounds, junior middleweights

Rita Figueroa vs. Danielle Christensen, six rounds, junior welterweights

Ivan Popoca vs. Patrick Cape, four rounds, welterweights

Henry Coyle vs. TBA, four rounds, junior middleweights

Much more information on this terrific evening of professional boxing will be announced shortly.
