Polish Prospect Fonfara Featured in Chicago
on November 16th
(NOV 8) Chicago favorite Andrzej Fonfara returns
to the ring on Friday, November 16th as he faces Dave Saunders at Cicero
Stadium in a six round junior middleweight bout, it was announced today by
Dominic Pesoli, President of 8 Count Productions, HOME OF THE BEST IN
CHICAGO BOXING.
The Fonfara-Saunders battle is one of the feature attractions at LATIN
THUNDER, an outstanding evening of world class professional boxing presented
by 8 Count Productions along with Oscar De La Hoya’s Golden Boy Promotions,
TCF Bank, Tecate Beer and AeroMexico, Mexico’s premier airline travel
headquarters.
Tickets for LATIN THUNDER are available in advance by calling the 8 Count
Productions offices at 312-226-5800. Cicero Stadium is located at 1909 S.
Laramie, just minutes from the Eisenhower and Stevenson Expressways. Doors
for this event will open at 5:30pm with the first bell at 6:30pm.
The 20 year old Fonfara brings a record of 7-1 (2KO’s) into battle with
Saunders. Most recently Fonfara treated his growing legion of Chicago fans
to an outstanding boxing display with a six round decision over Luis Hodge
on September 17th at Chicago’s Congress Theater.
Said Pesoli about Fonfara, “He’s getting better each time out and has
brought a real sense of electricity to our shows with his enthusiastic fans.
Saunders is a hard punching veteran and this should be another very solid
test for Andrzej.”
The heavy handed Saunders, 9-3 (6KO’s) from Cincinnati, Ohio has won five of
his battles by knockout in the first two rounds.
