Celaya added to THE RIOT boxing
card October 26th in Downtown Monterey

(SEPT 26) Joining three undefeated prospects
from Salinas who are trained and managed by Team Garcia, the fighter who
earlier in his career achieved a #1 World ranking at Welterweight returns to
Monterey. Jose Celaya, who last
fought at THE RIOT in 2001 when part of Team Garcia is now an independent
after 2 televised knockout losses on shows promoted by Latin Sports Group.
On the comeback trail, Celaya last fought in the Main Event September 13th
at the HP Pavilion in San Jose, and scored a first round knockout victory.
An opponent for Celaya at Jr. Middleweight will be named shortly for the
show in Monterey.
Eloy Perez, 9-0-2 , Constancio Alvarado, 2-0-1, and Jesus Vega,
14-0-2, will represent Salinas in separate bouts. Vega is back after a
4 year layoff and battle with testicular cancer. Our women's bout features
Cynthia Talmadge, 0-1,
of San Francisco vs.
Michelle
Gutierrez, 1-0, of Las Vegas and two additional bouts are
scheduled for Friday, October 26th at the Monterey Conference Center.
