The Floyd Mayweather Jr vs. Ricky Hatton conference 5-city tour kicked
off on Monday at the Universal City walk in Los Angeles Ca. Two
undefeated best
boxers in the world will meet on December 8, at MGM Grand in Las Vegas,
Nevada.
The conference was opened to the public and the California sunny weather
made sure that boxing fans were there to enjoy the event. About 200 fans
were at hand mostly Mayweather Jr.’s fans. The pound for pound champion
Mayweather Jr. even stayed after conference ended to autograph every
fan’s items.
Oscar De La Hoya, Golden Boy Promoter
talked about the upcoming fight before he introduced the two fighters.
“This got the potential of being one of the
most exciting fight. Floyd is the pound for pound champion and Hatton
another champion and listed among the best pound for pound fighters in
the world. They are both undefeated so what better name for this bout
event than UNDEFEATED. This will be an explosive fights. The under cards
bout will be
as exciting,” Oscar said.
“I want to thank Golden Boy Promotions for putting this show together. I
want to start with that and for going out and getting the fight I want.
That is with Floyd, thank you Floyd for giving me the opportunity to
test my talent against the best pound for pound” “I guess I never really
dream these days were ever going to happen. I must admit I was delighted
when I won my
first title, and when I won three titles. Now I get the chance to fight
the best pound for pound in the world; this is something out of you
wildest dream. I just can’t wait for December 8, it’s a big fight. It
will be on HBO. It a mega fight,” Hatton said.
“First of all, I want to thank God, Golden Boy Promotions, Team Hatton,
Mayweather promotions, all the fans in Los Angeles in supporting Oscar
De La
Hoya in our big event that we had, and everyone involved. Come December
8, Floyd Mayweather will be the same Mayweather going the distance and
winning.
Hatton wants to battle then that is what he is getting because that is
what he wants. No problem, I won‘t put gas on my toes to dance. Well I
will be doing some dancing but it will be dancing with the stars.” the
crowd bursted into laughter “I will show him because after all he is
fighting in the best country in the world. Once I dust Hatton off in the
U.S. then I will dust him off in England. I am dedicated to the sport of
boxing. When you are messing with Floyd Mayweather Jr, you are messing
with the cream of the crowd, the head honcho, el hombre entocable [the
man untouchable], el
muchacho guapo [the handsome] that is for all my Spanish fans,”
Mayweather said, leaving the crowd happy and laughing.
Tickets for the fight went on sale Monday and sold out in 35 minutes.
MGM will adding several closed-circuit venues in its Hotels. The Fight
will be on HBO Pay Per View Live.
