Walker,
Mobley plan punishing upsets to skyrocket careers
(JULY 17) ROSEMENT, ILL. - Octavius James/One In A Million Inc. today
announced the addition of true undefeated middleweight prospect Michael
“The Midnight Stalker” Walker (15-0-1, 9 KOs) of Chicago to the already
action packed “War For 4” card, a pay-per-view broadcast live from the
Allstate Arena August 4th.
The “War” will feature living boxing legend Erik “El Terrible” Morales
(48-5, 34 KOs), of Tijuana, Mexico., a veteran of some of the toughest
boxing wars in the past decade, against the WBC Lightweight Champion and
Chicago native David Diaz (32-1-1, 17 KOs), marking his first title
defense in the main event.
Walker, known throughout the boxing circles and fans for his punishing
boxing attacks and straight forward style, called the match against 2000
Olympian Dante Craig (17-6-1, 13 KOs) an opportunity to break into the
sport’s top level.
“I’ve got to shine in this fight, to inflict as much pain as I can on
Dante,” Walker said during a break from training camp Saturday at the
One In A Million Training Facility. “I’m going to punish him real bad,
and the rest of the boxing community is going to know I’m here to make
it big.”
Getting past Craig (17-6-1, 13 KOs) who has a significant knockout
record, will be no easy task.
Still, the “War” gives Walker the chance to showcase his talents to an
international audience, an opportunity the extremely tough Chicagoan has
more than earned, said Octavius James, CEO of One In A Million Inc.
“It’s not easy getting good fights for someone as strong and feared as
Michael Walker,” said James. “He has an incredibly fierce reputation,
and there aren’t many fighters willing to subject themselves to the kind
of attack he brings.
But, Michael will still have to bring out his best game to face someone
like Craig.”
Another One In A Million Inc. fighter, and Walker’s stable mate,
“Marvelous” Shay Mobley (16-8-1, 7 KOs) will also get a chance to shoot
his career to the highest levels when he faces the highly touted and
undefeated power puncher George “Da Bomb” Donovan (14-0-1, 12 KOs).
“He’s a big name, and he’s been talking a lot of stuff about knocking me
out, but he hasn’t fought anyone,” Mobley said Saturday of George, a
favorite of boxing broadcasts. “He’s real cocky, calling himself ‘Da
Bomb,’ but I’m the first fighter he’s faced, and I’m going to show the
world George’s nothing but a cherry bomb.”
The “War” pay-per-view broadcast (suggested retail price of $44.95),
presented by Bob Arum’s Top Rank Inc. will also feature welterweight
contender Julio Cesar Chavez, Jr. (32-0-1, 25 KOs), son of the legendary
three-division world champion Julio Cesar Chavez. Chavez has become a
fan and media favorite, often-making quick and devastating work of his
opponents.
Tickets for the fight start at just $35 and are available through
TicketMaster.com and at any Ticket Master locations. |
