Witherspoon Wins CBO
Title by Stunning 5th Round Knockout over West Taylor
July 16, 2007 |
 |
(JULY 16) Moultrie Witherspoon claims the
CBO Heavyweight Title in spectacular fashion by 5th round knock-out over
the hard punching West Taylor. In what could be considered one of his
best performances to date, Moultrie put on a boxing clinic that should
prove to any of his critics that the 6’6’’ 240lb Champion has what it
takes to become the Undisputed Heavyweight Champion of the World.
Witherspoon did a masterful job of dismantling the always durable West
Taylor.
Witherspoon dominated from the first round on by landing stiff jabs and
blistering straight right hands. Taylor strategy to press Witherspoon
worked to no avail as he was met again with stiff jabs and rocket like
upper cups that kept Taylor more than honest when on the inside.
Witherspoon did a masterful job pivoting off the ropes not allowing
Taylor to tie him up in the corner and land the big left hook were
accustomed to seeing from Taylor. Witherspoon sealed the deal in the 5th
with two straight right hands that would have stopped a locomotive. Full
story and more pictures to follow.
