KLITSCHKO INVITED TO PARTICIPATE IN HISTORIC
HEAVYWEIGHT UNIFICATION FIGHT IN RUSSIA
LOS ANGELES (July 15, 2007) – In an effort to give the world an
opportunity to see the best Heavyweight Champions fighting each other on
a road to a potential Unification of all four heavyweight belts, Nafta
Moskva, the sponsor of Sultan Ibragimov, and the promotional team of
Golden Boy Promotions, Warriors Boxing, Golden Grain Promotions and
Sampson Lewkowicz in association with Universum Box-Promotion, have
secured the necessary financial backing to invite IBF World Champion
Wladimir Klitschko to participate in a title defense of his World Title
on the big October 13th card “HEAVY COLLISION” from Russia. “HEAVY
COLLISION” features the historic match-up between WBO World Champion
Sultan Ibragimov and WBA World Champion Ruslan Chagaev as they battle to
unify their heavyweight titles.
Unfortunately, Wladimir Klitschko had to decline the invitation due to
an injury to his hand suffered in his tremendous performance against
Lamon Brewster this past weekend. Assuming that Ibragimov will be
victorious in his attempt to unify the WBA and WBO World Titles on
October 13th, he would be prepared to unify the titles further with
Wladimir Klitschko sometime next year. Sultan Ibragimov, Nafta Moskva
and his promotional team are committed to give the boxing fans what the
want: An Undisputed Heavyweight World Champion.
