Cotto Wins by KO over Judah

(JUN 10) Last night in front of a sellout crowd of 20,658, at the
Madison Square Garden, in New York, 26-year old Puerto Rican Miguel
Cotto, 146 ½, stopped Brooklyn’s Zab Judah, 145, in the 11th round, and
retaining his WBA Welterweight title. The crowd chanted “Cotto, Cotto!”
and “Puerto Rico, Puerto Rico!” that was dominate throughout the
building.
After the fight, Cotto said that he
expected a tough fight, and that is what he got. Judah said that he
wanted a rematch shortly after the fight. All Three judges had Cotto
ahead of the bout at 97-91, after 10 rounds.

According to local news sources, Cotto
also did not come out of the fight unscathed as and was cut inside the
mouth and had blood running down his chest.
Cotto was penalized a point in the third round for his second low blow
while the other came in the first.
But after the third round Cotto took charge and in the ninth, Judah went
down on a knee in his corner after a series of hits from Cotto. The
knock-out was in sight for Cotto and it came two rounds later when a
left hook floored Judah and though the 29-year-old managed to get up, he
was pummelled by Cotto and referee Arthur Mercante Jr jumped in to stop
