WBO
Double-Header in Colombia

(APR 27) Previous favorites Colombian Ricardo "Mochuelo" Torres and
Puerto Rican Ivan "Iron Boy" Calderon will defend their WBO super
lightweight and minimum weight, respectively, on the boxing card, that
is being promoted by Cuadrilatero-PR Best Boxing Promotions night, on
Saturday at the North University Colosseum in Barranquilla, Colombia.
Torres faces Mexican challenger Arturo
Morua, and Calderon will defend his title against Colombian challenger
Ronald "Indian" Barrera.
Torres, 26-year-old, 30-1 (26 KOs), will
the first defense of the belt that won with a 12-round majority decision
against Mike "Mighty" Arnaoutis on November 18 in Las Vegas, NV. Morua
is an experienced that had disputed a world title against Britain Junior
Witter last year in England.
Morua, 29-year-old won a bout over former WBA junior welterweight
champion Charles Maussa. Calderon, 33-year-old, 30-0 (7 KOs) will defend
his title for the eleventh time, against a strong and courageous
opponent as UBC Iberian-American champion Barrera, 25-year-old, record's
20-2 (12 KOs).
In other bouts younger super bantamweight
Puerto Rican prospect Juan "Juanma" Lopez against former WBO
bantamweight contender Jorge Otero of Colombia in 10 rounds.
Former WBO contenders Walberto Ramos and
John Albert Molina meet in 10-rounds light flyweight. Olympian
southpaw Likar Ramos against Dominican Marcos Jimenez in super
featherweight. Former Olympian Ricardo Marriaga face to Joel Cassiani in
super lightweight. Unbeaten featherweight prospect Daulis Prescott
against Erwin Padilla, Puerto Rican David Quijano against local Freddy
Canate. |
