Castellano
passes away

(MAR 31) WBAN was notified this week that
boxing referee Carol Castellano passed away.
Mary Ann Owen of BoxingInLasVegas.com wrote to us, "I received a phone
call this morning from Tony Castellano with the information that Carol
had passed on sometime last night. As you may not have known she has
been hospitalized for some time with serious medical problems. She
battled with a spirit and determination for the world champion person
that she was. At this time there are no plans for any services in the
Las Vegas Area.
Carol was a good friend to many people and to the sport of boxing. Her
passing will leave a void in many lives and the sport. She was always
considered in the upper echelons of boxing officials in the world. She
was a pioneer in the sport but more importantly a great and dear friend.
She will be missed by anyone that had the good fortune to become her
friend. May God Bless and keep her."
