Heavyweight Art Binkowski out--Middleweight Tommy Rain on

New York, March 23, 2007—Once beaten heavyweight prospect Art Binkowski, 14-1-3 (9 KOS), a native of Poland who fights out of Chicago, is off of the fight card scheduled for March 23 at the Huntington Town House in Huntington Station, Long Island.

Bob Duffy, whose Ringside Promotions is promoting the show in conjunction with Frankie G. Productions, said he was unable to secure an opponent. The news was not all bad for Binkowski, who just learned he will be fighting the opening bout on a ShoBox: The New Generation show in April.

The main event for the March 23 show between undefeated junior middleweight prospect Pawel Wolak, 13-0 (8 KOS), another native of Poland who lives in Brooklyn, and Keith Sims, 25-13-1 (14 KOS), of Kansas City, will go on as scheduled. Wolak and Sims each weighed in at 156 pounds.

Filling in for Binkowski is undefeated Long Island welterweight sensation Tommy “The Razor” Rainone, 5-0 (1 KO), of Plainview. The popular Rainone, who recently scored three victories in 20 days, will take on Sammy Gomez, 0-1 in a four rounder.

Also scheduled to appear is heavyweight power puncher Wilmer Vasquez, 1-0 (1 KO), who represented his native country at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens. Besides scoring more than 50 knockouts in 58 amateur fights, Vasquez is trained by the legendary Roberto Duran who is expected to be in attendance.

The Huntington Town House is located at 124 East Jericho Turnpike (1/5 of a mile east of Route 110). General admission is $40. VIP tables that can accommodate 10 people and include a two-hour cocktail party and a seven-course dinner are still available for $1,600.

Tickets can be obtained by contacting Bob Duffy at 516-313-2304; the Huntington Town House at 631-427-8485; or Frankie G’s Academy of Boxing in Huntington Station, phone 631-673-3520.
