Boxers advance in Vilnius

(MAR 16) Mark McCullough.Anthony Cacace and Michael Collins, advanced to
semi finals and quarter finals of the Danas Pozniakas Junior Multi
Nations in Lithuania following impressive last eight and last sixteen
wins in Vilnius yesterday.
McCullough, from the Cairn Lodge club in Belfast, progressed after
recording a 3-2 victory over Doos Symzhanuly from Kazakhstan, and
lightweight Cacace, (Oliver Plunketts), received a unanimous 5-0
decision over Lithuanian Ant Petrusvkas.
Collins, of the Darndale club in Dublin, was also in top form yesterday
beating Jay Kimitsidis from Greece (5-0) and will now meet Lithuanian
Farios Dadeb in today's (March 16th) quarter final.
John Joe Nevin (Cavan) and Stephen Donnelly (All Saints Belfast) will
also be in the ring this afternoon for quarter final showdowns with Eile
Isajevas (Lithuania) and Elierg Irchak from the Ukraine.
Heavyweight Con Sheehan (Clonmel) will face a Russian opponent in
tomorrows semi finals while McCullough and Cacace
will also be in the ring for last four meetings against opponents to be
confirmed.
