FIGHTING MAD ‘PANTERA’ TELLS GREEN, “I WILL MAKE YOU PAY FOR EVERY WORD
IN THE RING”
HOLLYWOOD, FL, February 2 – People’s Middleweight Champion Edison
Miranda is not someone you want to take lightly. Ask Arthur Abraham, the
IBF middleweight ‘champion’ who still hasn’t returned to the ring after
having his jaw broken in two places by ‘Pantera’; or Howard Eastman, who
went 24 rounds with Abraham and Bernard Hopkins but couldn’t last seven
full rounds with Miranda; or most recently, Willie Gibbs, who didn’t
make it out of the first round.
But unbeaten Allan Green seems to think that he is in for an easy night
when he fights Miranda in San Juan, Puerto Rico on an HBO-televised card
on March 3rd, even going as far as to insult the Colombian bomber in
recent statements to the media. Needless to say, when informed of these
remarks, Miranda was less than pleased.
“I’m glad he is doing his part to hype up this fight, but he needs to
watch his mouth because I will hurt him on March 3rd,” said Miranda,
27-1 with 24 KOs. “Maybe I’m thinking of a different Allan Green, but
isn’t this the same guy who was knocked down and almost out by his
sparring partner last year? Allan, I’m no sparring partner, and if
you’re man enough to stand and fight me, I will knock you out quicker
than you knocked out Jaidon Codrington. I promise you that. You need to
stop living off the glory of knocking out a kid with nine fights and
realize that on March 3rd, you are fighting a man. You can talk all you
want, but I will make you pay for every word in the ring.”
As for Green’s disparaging comments about Miranda fighting in his
adopted home of San Juan, ‘Pantera’ simply states, “We’ll see what
happens the moment he shows his face in the arena on March 3rd. Then
he’ll know who the crowd truly loves. I have been adopted by the great
people of Puerto Rico and I have adopted Puerto Rico as my home.” |
