URIBE
RETIRES AFTER 20 YEAR BOXING CAREER

(DEC 6) Veteran Carlos
Ariel Uribe, after of 20 year in his pro box career, has retired as one
of the best boxers, in Chilean boxing history of all time. In his
last fight Uribe, 37-year-old won a jr. welterweight
eight-round unanimous decision over Argentinean
Rolando Seguel last Saturday at the Mexican Club Gym in his native
Osorno, Chile.
Scores: Judges Guillermo Aguilera 80-76; Florindo Salvo 80-73; and
Helmut Burgos 80-74. The referee was Juan Carlos Caro. Uribe has fought
60 fights and has dispute the WBA jr featherweight losing a twelve-round
unanimous decision over local Luis "Chicanero" Mendoza on April 22,
1991, at the Plaza de Toros in Cartagena, Colombia. |
