HEAVYWEIGHT CONTENDER GREENBERG MAKES FIGHT FANS AN OFFER...
HOLLYWOOD, FL, November 29 – Ask heavyweight prospect Roman Greenberg
what his favorite film is, and he won’t hesitate with the answer – The
Godfather. Well, the unbeaten banger from Israel has an offer that fight
fans can’t refuse on December 9th – to tune in to Events InDemand
pay-per-view for Seminole Warriors Boxing’s “Night of The Heavyweights”
show and see the future of the sport’s glamour division.
“I’ve paid my dues and fought my way here,” said Greenberg (23-0, 16
KOs), who will face hard punching Steve Pannell (34-10, 28 Kos) at the
Seminole Hard Rock Live Arena on December 9th. “Now I’m ready to make my
move on the top fighters in the division in 2007, and I’m going to end
the year with a bold statement by knocking out Steve Pannell.”
Born in Russia, the well-traveled Greenberg grew up in Israel and
currently makes his home in England. He hasn’t forgotten his roots
though, and the former member of the Israeli military makes frequent
visits back home, even though he has narrowly escaped death twice in the
past year after bombings shook the area where he was staying.
In the ring though, the 24-year old Greenberg – a Silver medalist at the
World junior amateur championships in 2000 - has had smooth sailing as a
professional, decisioning former Mike Tyson opponent Julius Francis and
solid contender Kendrick Releford, winning the IBO Intercontinental
title by stopping Alex Vassilev, and most recently, scoring a
devastating sixth round knockout over Russia’s Alexei Varakin on
November 4th in Monte Carlo.
And tune in on December 9th to see
Greenberg in action again, along with the return of three-time
heavyweight champion Michael Moorer against Cliff Couser, and Former
Heavyweight Champion Oliver McCall’s intriguing clash with Yanqui Diaz.
The Events InDemand pay-per-view broadcast begins at 9pm ET / PT. |
