ON THE
INSIDE: Calvin Brock to Fight Wladimir Klitschko in November.
Mike Casile/ Philadelphia boxing Report
August 28, 2006
Just when you thought you were going to be lulled to sleep by the
Heavyweight division, they went ahead and threw a fight together that
actually may be something to watch.
Wladimir Klitschko 46 – 3 (41 KO’s) is said to be putting a deal
together that would have him meet Calvin Brock 29 – 0 (22 KO’s) in
November. Calvin called out Klitschko during his interview with the
Philadelphia Boxing Report back in June. If Klitschko stalks Brock in
the ring, this could be a very good fight. Brock’s last outing with
Timor Imbrigamov was so boring, Calvin told me even he was bored, and he
was in the fight. This could be the shot in the arm this division needs,
considering the Hideous PPV number for Maskaev / Rahman. Shelly Finkel,
Klitschko’s manager, wanted Maskaev, but is now sold firmly on Brock.
The deal is not done, but it will happen.
