on the Lawsuit against Stallone

(AUG 18) Anyone remember Chuck “The Bayonne Bleeder” Wepner (35-14)?
He’s one who could be said to have “lost to some of the best”. Who? How
about Sonny Liston, George Foreman and Joe Bugner?
As most know, Sylvester Stallone came up with the
Rocky idea after watching Wepner fight Ali on March
24, 1975. Wepner was supposed to be toast within a
couple of rounds. At it happened, he lasted to within
19 seconds of the finish and dumped Ali on his butt in
the 9th, a performance which confounded the “experts”.
Not the most difficult of tasks.
Wepner recently sued Stallone for $15 Million. The
case was settled out of court. A happy ending all
around except there will be a Rocky VI out this fall.
