PRESCOTT SURPRISE TO NORIEGA...By

(AUG 12) In the main event, Colombian unbeaten Breidy Prescott surprised
his opponent, veteran Jorge "Tank" Noriega, with a TKO'd in the fifth
round. The boxing card was presented by the Probox of Caribbean on
Friday night, at the Municipal Colisseum of Valledupar in the Colombian
Atlantic Coast.
Prescott, 22-year-old captured the WBC
Latin-American super lightweight vacant title.
Prescott, former Olympian contender in 2004 Athens
improved his record to 11-0, with 10 KO's. Noriega, 33-year-old
dropped his record to 30-19, with
24 KO's.
Noriega is a former Colombian, WBC Fecarbox, IBF
Latin-American, WBA fedelatin, WBO Latino, UBC
Iberian-American and UBC World champion.
In another bout, Elkin Zabaleta KO'd Wlfrido Palma in second round in
the super flyweight division. |
