8 COUNT SIGNS LIGHT HEAVY PROSPECT TAVORIS CLOUD

(AUG 11) Undefeated light heavyweight prospect Tavoris “The Assassin” Cloud has signed an exclusive promotional agreement with Chicago’s 8 Count Productions, it was announced today by Dominic Pesoli, President of 8 Count.

Said Pesoli, “We’re very happy to be working with Tavoris. He’s had two devastating knockouts in recent months on our shows at the Aragon Ballroom and our fans we’re thrilled by his skills and power. We look forward to a long and successful relationship with him as we work together towards a world championship.”

Cloud will be featured on the 8 Count Productions event at the Aragon Ballroom on Friday, September 15th. Additional information on his fight will be announced shortly.

The twenty four year old Cloud, of Tallahassee, Florida is 11-0 with 10 knockouts since turning pro on April, 2, 2004 with a third round knockout of then unbeaten Luis Reyes in Ocala, FL.

Said the modest and classy Cloud, ‘I’ve enjoyed both my trips to Chicago, the fans have been fantastic. I’m looking forward to putting on a great show on September 15th at the Aragon. I just let my time in the ring speak for itself; you won’t hear me calling anyone out. My job is to take care of business in the ring.”

Cloud, working with legendary trainer of numerous world champions, Al Bonanni, will start a five week camp on Friday, August 11, outside of Cleveland, Ohio. Previous sparring sessions in Cloud’s home state of Florida have included steady work with world champions Glen Johnson and Jean Marc Mormeck.

Said Bonanni, “He’s a great kid to work with, we’re planning on bringing a world championship to Chicago with Tavoris.”

Cloud’s amateur career record of 45-9 includes winning the United States under 19 national championships and he was a representative of the US under 19 team in Budapest, Hungary in 2001.

Added Cloud, “I’m a student of the game, always learning, especially watching Floyd Mayweather Jr. and old tapes of James Toney when he fought at 160 and 175.”

Cloud is managed by the A TEAM partnership of Chicagoans Jerry Attardi and Mike Giorango.

8 Count Productions was started by Dominic Pesoli in 1997 and has consistently presented the highest quality professional boxing events in Chicagoland. In 2003, Pesoli along with former featherweight contender Mike Garcia opened JABB Boxing Gym, a 6,000 square foot venue dedicated to the finest Chicagoland boxers of all talent levels.
