Professional Ringside Physicians (AAPRP) announced today that this
year's boxing medical conference will take place on September 13 -17 at

This seminar on boxing medical safety is one of the AAPRP’s most
important events. Leading ringside physicians, boxers, managers,
promoters, referees, trainers, judges, commissioners and media from
around the country will be in attendance. Amongst the many topics
scheduled for discussion are "a commissioner’s perspective on boxing
safety", "the boxer’s perspective on rapid weight loss and sparring
injuries", the medical aspects of mixed martial arts and the WWE,
pre-fight medical testing, eye injuries in boxing, panel discussions on
boxing injuries, new research pertaining to brain injuries, a neurologic
update discussing Mr. Joe Mesi’s career and the popular segment of "the
show must go on" in which all the attendees will witness real boxing
situations and must make decisions whether to allow a bout to continue.
The four-day conference also includes a golf outing, a cocktail
reception and an awards banquet. Continuing Medical Education Credits (CME)
will be available for all physicians attending this program.
