Resorts East Chicago Presents Fight Night
with One in a Million Boxing
(EAST CHICAGO, IN – May 10, 2006) Live professional boxing will make its
way to Resorts East Chicago Casino during a special Fight Night, Friday,
May 26. Hosted by One in a Million Boxing, Inc, Resorts will present
five live outdoor boxing bouts during the event including an IN.B.A.
lightweight championship bout featuring reigning champion Johnny Novak,
of Hammond, IN.“The Fight Night
event will be a very exciting entertainment option for customers as it
couples live championship boxing with the incredible casino gaming
action offered here at Resorts, stated Jim Rafferty, Vice President of
Marketing at Resorts East Chicago. The combination of boxing and casino
gaming is a great tradition that has gone on for a very long time, and
now we are offering this exciting combination right here in Northwest
Indiana along with the highly respected One in a Million Boxing Inc.”
Appearing on the card along with Johnny Novak, will be up and coming
middleweight fighter, Derrick Findly of Gary, IN, as well the hugely
popular light heavyweight boxer Nick Cook, of Laporte, IN. In a special
attraction bout, Merciless Mary McGee of Gary, IN, will put her
undefeated super lightweight record on the line during a six-round
contest. Prior to the IN. B.A. Lightweight Championship, undefeated
middleweight prospect Michael Walker will defend his record during an
eight round co-main event. A press conference announcing the Fight Night
Event will be held Wednesday, May 16 at 4pm in Resorts’ Ballroom.
Tickets for Fight Night will go on sale Friday, May 12 in the casino’s
Gift Shop and will start at $25. Doors for the event will open at 7pm
with the first bout beginning promptly at 8pm.
