In the main event David “Strictly Business” Medina (8-1, 5kos)
will get his first title shot as he takes on Hector Hernandez
(8-1-1, 3kos) for the vacant Global Boxing Union (GBU) Americas
Middleweight title. Medina will face the toughest test since his pro
debut, which he lost, as Hernandez has an impressive record of
8-1-1, similar to the man Medina lost to. Medina has been on a
mission since that fight reeling off 8 straight wins with 5 coming
by way of knock out. Hernandez has only lost once in 10 fights and
he is riding a three fight win streak he will be looking to keep
alive. You couldn’t get a better match-up on paper. You have two
once-beaten prospects, both are 8-1, ready to prove that they belong
on this level. Throw a championship belt into the mix and you have
the makings of a war. This bout is scheduled for 8 rounds, or less.
The co-main will feature undefeated super light weight prospect
Marvin “Much-2-Much” Cordova (9-0, 6kos) in with knock out artist
Marcus Breshears (2-1-1, 2kos). Cordova is on the fast track to a
world championship and he has the skills and determination to make
it a reality before his 20th fight. Remember the name as
you will be hearing much more, real soon.
The featured bout of the card showcases Cordova’s sister Chantel
“Gorgeous Babe“ Cordova (1-0, 1ko) in her second pro fight against
durable veteran Gina Abel (0-10). Despite the poor record this is a
very tough fight for Chantel as Abel has 30 professional rounds
under her belt while Chantel has only 1! This really is a step up
fight for her, coming in only her second professional outing. The
equalizer should be Chantel’s amateur background. She just finished
her amateur career ranked #1 in the nation by USA Boxing and she won
her second straight US Championships Gold medal. She is one to watch
for.
The undercard will include the pro debut of Jamie “Doodle Bug”
Myers (0-0) as she takes on Tiffany Wilson (0-1-1) in a four rounder
and cruiserweight Eddie Harrison vs TBA.
