Golden Boy
Promotions Inks Larry Mosley
LOS ANGELES, October 12– Golden Boy Promotions, home to the largest
collection of established talent and rising stars in the boxing
world today, is pleased to announce the signing of welterweight
standout Larry Mosley to a promotional deal.
“I’ve watched Larry Mosley from his amateur days, and I’ve always
been impressed by not only his skill level, but his knowledge of the
ring,” said Golden Boy Promotions President Oscar De La Hoya. “I’m
glad Larry has joined the Golden Boy team, and together, we’re
gearing up for a run at the welterweight championship in 2006.”
“It’s always been a dream of mine to have the right team behind me
to help me achieve my goals in boxing,” said Mosley. “Now, with
legendary champions like Oscar De La Hoya, Bernard Hopkins, Marco
Antonio Barrera, and Shane Mosley behind me, I feel that when I get
into the ring, I can’t be stopped.”
Mosley, 25, looked unstoppable in his last fight on August 4th, when
he impressively stopped previously unbeaten Alexis Divison in four
rounds. But Mosley has been impressing boxing insiders for a while
now, going back to his time in the amateur ranks, where he won the
1995 and 1996 junior Olympic championships, the 1997 President’s
Cup, and the 1998 and 1999 US Amateur championships.
As a pro, Mosley has compiled 14 wins, with five knockouts and just
a lone six round decision loss in 2002.
