Gilbert Venegas vs. Steve Vincent in Solo Boxeo/Latin Fury

Dominic Pesoli's 8 Count Productions, Home of the Best in Chicago Boxing, and Bob Arum's Top Rank Incorporated along with Miller Lite and TCF Bank
present "Latin Fire" on Friday, October 14th at the Cicero Stadium, 1909 S. Laramie Ave. in Cicero, IL. Tickets starting at $30 are on sale by calling 312-226-5800.

Chicago based Mexican warrior Gilbert Venegas, (8-1-1, 5 KO's) faces off against Steve Vincent, (8-3, 7 KO's) in the scheduled eight round welterweight co-main event. Said Pesoli about the co-main, "We just signed Gilbert and we're thrilled to have him on our show. Vincent's a very tough, heavy handed kid from St. Louis which should provide a solid test for Gilbert.

The twenty eight year old Venegas, coming off a four year layoff battled to a six round draw against undefeated Main Events promoted prospect Henry Crawford on the Fernando Vargas "Return to Battle" under card at the Allstate Arena on August 20th. Vincent is riding a three bout winning streak, most recently stopping John Slicker on September 8th in St. Louis.

Headlining the huge card Latin Fury card is the Chicagoland debut of two-time world champion Jose Luis Lopez, (47-4-2, 37 KO's) of Durango, Mexico.
"Maestrito" won the welterweight world championship over Mexican legend Yory Boy Campas on October 6, 1996 by brutally knocking out Campas in the 5th round.
One year later on October 17, 1997, Lopez fought former world champion Ike "The Bazooka" Quartey even for twelve rounds earning a 12 round draw.

The 32 year old Lopez returned to the ring last fall after a four year absence and is riding a three fight winning streak, most recently stopping Alberto Mercedes
in the seventh round in Las Vegas, Nevada on the Diego Corrales/Jose Luis Castillo under card on May 7th of this year.

Just added to the huge card is 8 Count Productions' recent signee lightweight Mike Gonzalez, (2-0, 2 KO's) who will be featured in a four round bout against
Antoine Hicks of Dallas, TX. Gonzalez cemented his status as a prospect by stopping Tommy Bach this past July at the Aragon Ballroom.

The action packed under card also features the return of the two most popular Chicago fighters, welterweight KO artist Luciano "El Mohicano" Perez, (12-2-1, 11 KO's) and middleweight "MACHO" Miguel Hernandez, (16-3, 9 KO's) in separate bouts.

A special cruiserweight six round attraction will feature Chicago's Mike Nevitt, (9-0, 4 KO's). Nevitt was last seen taking a hard fought decision from Carl Gathright this past June at the Aragon Ballroom.
