out for "Mayhem in Mansfield"
Duddy-Brady headlines Sept. 17 in Mansfield, MA
WOBURN, Mass. (September 9, 2005) - The stars will be out September 17
for "Mayhem in Mansfield," the pro boxing show headlined by undefeated
Irish middleweight sensation "Ireland's" John Duddy (11-0, 10 KOs), at
the Dana Barros Sports Complex in Mansfield, Massachusetts. "Mayhem in
Mansfield" is promoted by New England Ringside Promotions in association
with Irish Ropes and Cedric Kushner Productions.
"We want this to be an event, not just a pro boxing show," New England
Ringside Promotions president Rick Brutti explained. "Boxing is part of
the entertainment industry and we're rolling out the red carpet Sept.
17. Dana Barros has invited a lot of pro athletes from different spots.
We have a Who's Who of Boxing on the East Coast coming as our guests.
And we'll have some well known entertainers there, too."
Some of the more notable invited boxers expected to attend include
"Irish" Micky Ward, three-time participant in the Fight of the Year;
Vinny "The Pazmanian Devil" Paz, former five-time world champion; Irish
heavyweight champion Kevin "The Clones Colossus" McBride, the man who
retired Mike Tyson; former world welterweight champion Tony "The Pride
of Fleet Street" DeMarco, WBC International junior welterweight
title-holder Paulie "The Magic Man" Malignaggi, Mass State Auditor and
former middleweight challenger Joe DeNucci, 1960 Olympic gold medal
winner Dr. Wilbert "Skeeter" McClure, WBC No. 1 rated super middleweight
contender Scott "The Sandman" Pemberton, 2004 U.S. Olympian Jason "Big
Six" Estrada, USNBC cruiserweight champion Matt "Too Smooth" Godfrey,
IWBF lightweight champion Jaime "Hurricane" Clampitt, and David Pareja
from The Next Great Champion show.
Other attending celebrities include 1992 Olympic bronze medallist Rodney
Smith and Kenny Casey from the Dropkick Murphys band.
Former pro boxer "Iron" Mike Pusateri, who is retiring from the MBTA,
will be honored for his contributions to boxing. Pusateri (30-24-4, 28
KOs) fought world middleweight champion Terry Downes, NABF middleweight
champion Denny Moyer, USBA/NABF title-holder Tony Licata, European
champions Juan Carlos Duran and Tom Bogs, and DeNucci twice at the old
Boston Garden.
Duddy, a native of Derry, Northern Ireland, faces former WBC Fecarbox
light middleweight champion Joseph "The Assassin" Brady (13-4-1, 6 KOs)
from Albuquerque (NM) in the eight-round main event.
Light heavyweight Derrick "Double Impact" Whitley (22-23-3, 11 KOs)
fights Dhafir "No Fear" Smith (13-10-2, 3 KOs) in the eight round
co-feature. The undercard includes heavyweights (former Boston College
football star) Derric Rossy (8-0, 5 KOs) vs. Joseph Kenneth (3-6, 2
KOs), Irish junior middleweight James Moore (2-0, 1 KO), junior
welterweight Jorge Teron (5-0, 4 KOs) vs. Damon Antoine (2-6-1, 1 KO),
welterweights Luis Villamontes (0-0) vs. David Lee Marquez (0-0), super
middleweight Paschal "Packie" Collins (13-2-1, 4 KOs) vs. TBA and light
heavyweights Chris Traietti (0-0) vs. Huston Crayton (0-1). All bouts
and fighters are subject to change.
Tickets are priced at $100.00 (VIP/ringside), $55.00 (reserved), and
$35.00 general admission. Tickets may be ordered by going to

show. Doors open at 6 p.m., first bout at 7:30 p.m. Tickets also are now
