On October 8, 2005, history will be made on Maui. For the first time a
professional championship boxing match will take place on Maui at the
Lahaina Civic Center.

The Hawai’i State Welterweight Championship will be on the line as
Mexican contender, Fernando “Tigre” Mena of Mexico fights former WBA
International Welterweight Champion Reynaldo Pelonia of the Philippines
in the 10 round MAIN EVENT, for the vacant State Title. Maui’s own
professional boxer Dat Nguyen will also appear in a 6 round attraction.
This fight card will be the hottest ticket on Maui.
