Wright wins by unanimous
decision over Trinidad; Zab by third round KO
(MAY 15) Last night in front
of a crowd of over 14,175 boxing fans, at the MGM Grand
Garden Arena, in Las Vegas, Nevada, Winky Wright beat
Felix Trinidad with a 12-round unanimous decision. The
fight was called a “shutout” for Wright who easily
defeated Trinidad.
Wright said, "I
had said before the fight that I was going to go
from round to round, and that's what I did.”
Final judges scores were 120-107, 119-108, and
119-108.
In
another bout undisputed
welterweight champion Zab
"Super" Judah stopped Cosme
Rivera of Los Angeles, 2:11 of
the third round.
Rivera went down three times
during this short night for Zab. Zab was making a
mandatory defense of the IBF version of his titles.
